AIRC Azalea
Breast cancer remains the most prevalent cancer among women of all ages in Italy. Despite this, advancements in diagnosis and treatment have significantly improved survival rates, with two out of three women now living five years or more after a diagnosis. This progress is largely due to the efforts of organizations like the AIRC Foundation, which is dedicated to advancing research for better prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of cancers affecting women.
In line with our commitment to community well-being, Mitsubishi Electric Europe Italian Branch has renewed its support for the AIRC Foundation, becoming a partner in the Azalea Research Campaign. This initiative is particularly significant as the Azalea flower, symbolizing Mother's Day, has been an emblem of women's cancer research for 40 years. Over these decades, the campaign has raised approximately 300 million euros, which has helped to contribute to an enhanced quality of life and higher survival rates through earlier diagnoses, less invasive surgeries, and more effective and better-tolerated therapies.
Our ongoing collaboration with AIRC will include engaging our corporate community through webinars, monthly informational columns, and meetings. These efforts are designed to promote a culture of well-being and prevention among our employees, raising awareness about cancer and its impact. Supporting these causes is a key aspect of our "Changes for the Better" initiative. We believe that by making small changes, we can foster a healthier work environment and a more informed society focused on everyone's well-being.
