Mitsubishi Electric Group is dedicated to fostering a sustainable society across the globe. Here in Sweden, we proudly support Special Olympics since 2022, reflecting our commitment to inclusivity and well-being.

In 2024, we were thrilled to take part in the Special Olympics Family Programme, held on October 25th and 26th in Malmö. As a sponsor, our team actively assisted with on-site activities, from distributing food to supporting various sports events. This hands-on involvement allowed us to gain deeper insights into the invaluable work of Special Olympics and Parasport Sweden, as well as their sports days designed for adapted schools. We also had the privilege of attending the launch of Special Olympics’ new family programme.

During the event, attendees received "Heja Special," a new children’s book from Special Olympics that encourages children with intellectual disabilities to unite in the joy of sports and camaraderie.

In Sweden, around 100,000 individuals live with intellectual disabilities, yet only 10% are involved in sports associations. We are honoured to support children and youth with intellectual disabilities in pursuing healthier, more active lives through sports. This is a vital step towards a more inclusive society where everyone has the opportunity to thrive and connect through physical activity and community.
