Mitsubishi Electric Europe Spanish Branch proudly supported the Down Madrid Race for the sixth consecutive year. The event, marking its 14th edition, took place on Sunday, 13th October, in Juan Carlos I Park, Madrid.
Over 3,400 participants gathered to champion the inclusion of individuals with intellectual disabilities and to promote their wellbeing through sport. This year saw a record-breaking turnout since the pandemic, with women participants outnumbering men for the first time in the race’s history.
This initiative reflects Mitsubishi Electric’s dedication to the Sustainable Development Goals, specifically SDG 10, which focuses on reducing inequalities, and SDG 17, emphasising partnerships. For six years, the company has played a pivotal role in organising this event, underscoring its commitment to equal opportunities and social inclusion.

The 2024 edition was notable for its environmental focus, implementing measures to reduce waste and encourage the use of recyclable materials. By combining social and environmental objectives, the race embodied principles of solidarity and sustainability.
Pedro Ruiz, Spanish Branch President, attended the event, stating: ‘Once again this year, we are proud to support the Down Madrid Race, an event that fosters inclusion by bringing together participants of all ages, making the day and the race a truly memorable occasion for families.’

Held under the slogan ‘Tus kilómetros, mi inclusión (Your kilometres, my inclusion),’ the race offered 2.5, 5, and 10-kilometre routes, drawing participants of all ages in a day filled with solidarity and social commitment.
