Cleaning at the Industrial Site

Across Italy, an impressive 11,268 volunteers took part in 223 environmental clean-up initiatives, collectively removing over 133,000 kilograms of plastic and waste from coastlines, rivers, and natural landscapes.

This outstanding achievement was part of the nationwide ‘Sea and Rivers’ event, held on 28-29 September, and organised by Plastic Free Onlus. Since its founding in 2019, the organisation has been dedicated to tackling plastic pollution and safeguarding the country’s rich natural heritage.

At Mitsubishi Electric, we are proud to have contributed once again this year, supported by the commitment of our employees.

In line with our mission to promote the well-being of communities where we operate, we took part in cleaning an industrial site near Cittadella (PD, Italy). On the morning of 29 September, a team of 43 volunteers—including over 10 Mitsubishi Electric employees and an equal number from Mitsubishi Electric Hydronics & IT Cooling Systems, an affiliated company in Italy — successfully collected 600 kilograms of waste.

Participants in the Cleaning Event

Mitsubishi Electric’s support for Plastic Free, which includes participation in Clean Up projects and financial contributions, reflects our strong commitment to promoting sustainable practices and raising awareness of the importance of protecting our ecosystems. This collaboration is not just an isolated initiative, but part of a broader approach to environmental stewardship that underscores the company’s wider sustainability mission.

This effort is in line with Mitsubishi Electric’s global Environmental Sustainability Vision 2050, which prioritises environmental responsibility as a core business objective.
