Museum of the Present
At Mitsubishi Electric, we deeply value legality and justice, which are fundamental to our democracy. Along with preserving historical memories to understand the present, and build a fairer future. These principles are central to the Italian branch's Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program, which also emphasizes promoting culture through support for museums, theater organizations, and music festivals.
In line with this commitment, we chose to support the Falcone Foundation in the creation of the 'Museum of the Present.' This museum honors Giovanni Falcone, Paolo Borsellino, and all the victims of mafia violence. Founded on December 10th, 1992, in Palermo, the Foundation is dedicated to fostering a culture of legality and justice through research and educational activities, particularly for younger generations.
Inauguration on May 23rd at Palazzo Jung, Palermo - Italy
Located in Palermo's historic centre, near the birthplaces of Falcone and Borsellino, the "Museum of the Present" was inaugurated on May 23rd at Palazzo Jung. It is Europe's first museum dedicated to, and documenting the fight against, the mafia. It places it within a historical context and highlights the crucial role of passion, commitment, and culture in battling organized crime.
Mitsubishi Electric supported this important project with both financial contributions and by providing air conditioning for the museum. Our CSR initiatives reflect our broader mission to nurture vibrant, resilient communities that appreciate history, arts, and knowledge.
