Diving into the 'World of Mitsubishi Electric'
On 15th January 2024, students from Niederrhein University of Applied Sciences enjoyed an inspiring day focusing on sustainability and innovation at Mitsubishi Electric Europe's German Branch in Ratingen.
The event began with a warm welcome and an impressive product presentation including an introduction to the individual divisions by Julius Thiel in our inhouse exhibition 'The World of Mitsubishi Electric'.
'The World of Mitsubishi Electric'
Two informative presentations afterwards were further highlights of the day. The first presentation 'Contribution of Mitsubishi Electric's Power Semiconductors to the European Green Deal,' held by Chief Engineer Power Semiconductors Dr. Eckhard Thal, focused on Mitsubishi Electric's contribution to the 'European Green Deal.' The use of power semiconductors improves the efficiency of electrical energy conversion processes and thus enables energy savings. The use of power semiconductors in renewable energy generation plants such as wind power or solar power generation prevents CO2 emissions. In this way, semiconductors make a significant contribution to reducing the ecological footprint of various industries. The second presentation by Susanne Thormählen from Corporate Communications focused on the company's social commitment and the student competition 'changes.AWARD.'
The students interested in the lectures
The students showed an extraordinary interest and engagement while applying their academic knowledge to the real-life challenges of Mitsubishi Electric. The visit not only provided valuable insights into sustainable practices, but also the opportunity to deepen the link between environmental awareness and technological innovation.
Mitsubishi Electric and the Niederrhein University of Applied Sciences created a meaningful symbiosis of education and industry on 15th January 2024. The dedicated students returned with a deeper understanding of sustainable business practices and are motivated for a possible professional future in which sustainability and innovation go hand in hand.
