The Palau de la Música Catalana is owned by the Association Orfeó Català whose objective is to promote culture, especially in the musical aspect with preferential attention to choral music.

The association develops different projects an one of the most relevant one us is 'Primer Palau.' A cycle contest of young talent that allows these geniuses of the future to share the emotions of the debut at 'The Palau de la Música Catalana.' Primer Palau was pioneered on this kind of contest in Spain. Currently, the National Auditorium of Madrid is celebrating a similar one.

For 23 years now, Mitsubishi Electric Spanish Branch has sponsored this prestigious award and the series of concerts that represents the main entrance to the success of young talents. Because of the collaboration, Mitsubishi Electric invites 500 customers on average that enjoy not only the prize-giving ceremony for the winners but also a concert played by the winner. The Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs granted Mitsubishi Electric Europe an award for distinguished continued contribution with local society back in 2017.

+B18This year, Claudia Aliaj, a clarinet player from Salamanca, won the 1st prize and Shunji Kurita, the President & CEO of Mitsubishi Electric Europe and the Consul of Japan in Barcelona gave the awards at the closing award ceremony.
