Did you know that 11 million tons of plastic end up in the ocean every year? It's a staggering amount and something we can all work together to change.

In order to increase awareness of the environmental situation and at the same time do an activity together, team members working at Mitsubishi Electric Europe Netherlands Branch have looked for a foundation that is committed to creating awareness and share commitment to preserving the beauty of our coastlines.

'Juttersgeluk' is a beach cleanup foundation that tackles this environmental problem and we are honored to contribute to their cause. During a beachcombing trip, this foundation picks up as much stray plastic and other stray waste as possible from the beach. It served as a powerful reminder of the urgent need to address the issue of marine pollution. Juttersgeluk then turns this into surprising, beautiful new products. They do this in their social 'upcycle workshop' which is inspired by 'Project Plastics', no mass production, but customization in limited editions. Their creativity is limitless and they utilize all the possibilities that 'beach trash'offers them. They also do it with people who, for whatever reason, cannot do regular work, but do want to participate in our society.
