Meet the Neanderland @ Mitsubishi Electric

Germany / Environment

16 October 2023

In 2002, the Düsseldorf Chamber of Industry and Commerce and the district of Mettmann have launched the "meet the neanderland" initiative. The aim is to present the cultural and economic specialties of the district of Mettmann to an international audience and to make the region known internationally as a business location. At the same time, contacts are made that are essential for future economic relations.

In 2023, Japan was the partner country of the event and thus Mitsubishi Electric had the honor of hosting this year's meeting on 16th October at the German Branch. The partner country Japan was represented by the Consul General in Düsseldorf Mrs. Setsuko Kawahara. The invited guests included the consular corps from around 20 countries.

Andreas Wagner, President of the German Branch, introduced our company, our products and solutions as well as our key factors for the green transformation to the guests. Afterwards, the guests were given a guided tour of the in-house exhibition "The World of Mitsubishi Electric".

The focus of the event was on the green transformation of both countries. In an impulse speech, the Japanese Consul General Setsuko Kawahara emphasized the great potential of cooperation between Japan and Germany in the field of green transformation.

In the subsequent discussion between Andreas Schmitz (President of the Chamber of Industry and Commerce in Düsseldorf), Thomas Hendele (District Administrator of the Mettmann district) and Andreas Wagner, it was emphasized, among other things, how important a close cooperation with Japan will be for Düsseldorf, the region North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW) and Germany in the future.
