Supporting GOAL's Jersey Day

Ireland / Charity Donation

13 October 2023

The staff of Mitsubishi Electric Ireland wear their favourite jerseys to support GOAL's Jersey Day!

GOAL, an Irish international humanitarian aid agency, was founded in 1977. For over 40 years, GOAL has responded to almost all of the world’s major humanitarian crises, working with vulnerable communities in more than 60 countries. Their main purpose is to save lives and empower communities to develop resilience and greater control over their lives and livelihoods. GOAL aims to increase the resilient wellbeing of the world’s poorest people and focuses on those who are excluded or marginalised, particularly those who are vulnerable due to socio-economic status, gender or age.

Jersey Day is GOAL's flagship annual fundraising campaign held across Ireland and throughout the world. GOAL Jersey Day sees tens of thousands of people across Ireland coming together and wearing their favourite sports jerseys to support GOAL's work with vulnerable communities. The event unites approximately 40,000 people from over 500+ primary and secondary schools, corporations, and state organisations, representing every county in Ireland.

On the 13th of October, the staff of Mitsubishi Electric Europe Irish Branch dusted off their favourite jerseys and made contributions to this worthwhile charity. Mitsubishi Electric Ireland then matched all of the funds that were collected for the event. We were able to contribute over €400 to support GOAL’s lifesaving work across the world.
