Established in 1860 the men’s Open event is the oldest golf tournament in the world and regarded as one of the main summer sports events in U.K. The women’s event, first established in 1976 is recognised as a major by both the LPGA in the U.S. and the Ladies European Tour. Next year, the AIG Women's Open will return to the Old Course in St Andrews in Scotland, also known as the home of golf. The event will be sure to entice huge numbers of spectators to come and enjoy golf of the highest order.
Mitsubishi Electric Europe has developed a strong association with promoting equality, diversity and inclusion through sports, as well as nurturing athletes in their careers outside of sport, and this partnership is another important step in this direction.
