The University of Navarra Clinic hosted the 1st Niños Contra el Cáncer (Children Against Cancer) Charity Gala in Madrid, at Marriott Auditorium Hotel on 15th June 2023. The gala is a social program inviting all people who want to collaborate with the progress of children's oncology research, and help families access specific treatments at an event full of solidarity, medicine, science and hope.

At the event participants enjoyed a welcome drink along with the dinner itself and there were performances by several artists as well as a raffle for prizes. The profits generated at the gala will be used for research projects and access to specific treatments for pediatric patients.

Approximately 900–950 children are diagnosed with cancer each year in Spain and they and their families are forced to face tremendous difficulties. It is a little known fact that advanced treatments that are developed for adult cancer care cannot be applied to children, as the development of childhood cancer is different to that of adults. It is therefore essential to support specific lines of research, and raise dedicated funds for research into childhood cancers.

Defeating childhood cancer is everyone's goal but at the same time it's a great challenge. Mitsubishi Electric is proud of sponsoring the gala which is helping children who are living with cancer, and it is our dream that one day childhood cancers are completed irradicated.
