Mitsubishi Electric Europe's Spanish Branch is partnership with Madrid's 'Teatro Real'. The cooperation has the aim of promoting Spanish culture and the initial signing ceremony was attended by Mitsubishi Electric Europe's President & CEO, Shunji Kurita.

The Teatro Real is considered the leading institution of the performing arts in Spain, the foremost national opera house and one of the most important Spanish cultural institutions. The theatre was awarded the 'Best Opera House' in 2021 at the International Opera Awards.

The Teatro Real Foundation is chaired by the King and Queen of Spain. It relies on two public administrations that took part in its creation: the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports, and the Comunidad de Madrid (Regional Government of Madrid). It is governed by a Board of 31 trustees. The Board of Trustees elects the President of Board and the Executive Commission as proposed by the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport. The Foundation is a public entity, and there is an important role played by civil society in its governance and sponsorship.

At the time of the partnership signing, Pedro Ruiz Mitsubishi Electric Spanish Branch President became a part of the Board of Protectors of the Teatro Real. He commented 'The Teatro Real is a great cultural institution of reference at a national and international level that seeks to offer the public a place to discover the best artists and creators of the moment. In addition, it pays special attention to new audiences and also to the dissemination of opera among younger people. Support for culture and support for young talents is part of our DNA and that's why today we feel especially proud of signing this collaboration.'

As one of the activities for supporting young talents we were involved with is the young talent program 'Crescendo', and we're glad to be a part of the program for future generations.
