Solution details

Ensuring uniformity of the painting quality by controlling the temperature and humidity, and adjusting the air intake/exhaust balance of the paint booth

Measure the temperature and humidity with thermometers, hygrometers, and thermographic cameras, and use a process CPU to control temperature (using PID control) and air conditioning, ensuring uniformity of the painting quality.

Keep the environment of the paint booth and drying room constant by adjusting the fan and damper based on data collected in the process CPU.

Key Points
  • The MELSEC iQ-R series process CPU module can perform advanced PID control and high-speed general control simultaneously.
          • Advanced process control can be achieved by using process control instructions such as two-degree-of-freedom PID control and auto tuning.

Improving quality by collecting, analyzing and collectively managing multiple data of various equipment, such as temperature, humidity, and air intake/exhaust

Collect data of temperature, humidity, air intake/exhaust, etc. from various equipment such as undercoating and sealer and send such large amounts of data directly to the database via the MES Interface module for collective management. Analyze and visualize the data to improve productivity and quality.

The MES Interface module (RD81MES96N) can be directly connected to a database, which allows connection to database on Linux® OS besides Windows®.

            Key Point
            • The DB buffering function protects the transmission data sent to a database even when communication error occurs.

Saving energy of the intake/exhaust fan for the paint booth

Use the highly efficient IPM motor to save energy by driving the motor with less power and reducing motor loss.

The FREQROL-F800 inverter can drive the MM-EFS/MM-THE4 IPM motors and third-party IPM motors.

The highly efficient IPM motor saves energy by reducing motor loss and unnecessary power consumption.

            Key Points
            • The IPM motor with a built-in permanent magnet has less motor loss than a general-purpose motor.
            • The IPM motor can easily replace the general-purpose motor because they have the same mounting dimensions.
