What is MELSOFT VIXIO?

Concerns in the inspection process:

  • Labor shortages increase the burden on inspectors
  • Generational changes in inspectors make consistent visual inspection difficult
  • Even though inspection is rule-based, overdetection is increasing

MELSOFT VIXIO application examples

Combination of rule-based and AI-based inspections

Introducing MELSOFT VIXIO AI inspection and using it together with existing rule-based inspection improves inspection accuracy.

Perform primary screening with AI

Checking products identified in primary screening based on AI judgment results (heat map) reduces task labor.

Double check by AI and human eyes

The introduction of doublechecking reduces the risk of overlooking defective products and ensures consistency of quality between operators.

MELSOFT VIXIO features

Introducing our cutting-edge software, designed to revolutionize factory automation with advanced technology and user-friendly features. Whether you're seeking efficiency, ease of use, or comprehensive monitoring, our solution delivers unparalleled performance.

Key features include:

  • High-speed, high-precision AI algorithm ideal for factory automation.
  • Simple operation settings that require no programming expertise.
  • Improved traceability for enhanced monitoring and control across production.
AI introduction challengesWith MELSOFT Vixio
The limited number of defective product images complicates accuracy improvement. Generating AI models requires extensive image learning, making the process time consuming and inefficient. Easily generate AI models with high-speed, high accuracy AI.
Even if an AI model could be generated, specialized programming is required to implement it in the system.Easily set up tasks in a flowchart format.Settings from model generation to monitor screen creation can be performed with a single tool.
Ensuring traceability is difficult because different types of data are saved using separate tools.Inspection date/time, programmable controller data, captured image, and inspection results are automatically linked and saved together in a group, for easy traceability.

Operation processes

Learning phase

Step 1: Organize & Categorize

Gather images of both good and bad quality products and categorize them accordingly. This can involve using existing archived images or installing a camera on the production line to capture real-time images during production.

Step 2: Preprocess Images

Adjust the images through preprocessing techniques to optimize them for analysis by the AI. This may include tasks such as cropping out irrelevant areas to focus only on the pertinent parts needed for analysis.

Step 3: AI Model Creation With just a click of a button

Initiate the creation of the AI model. The AI utilizes a subset of the provided images for training the model and another subset for validating its performance. This streamlined process ensures the swift development and deployment of the AI for product quality analysis, allowing for transparent evaluation of its effectiveness and performance.

Inspection phase

Step 4: Configure the Task

Leverage pre-designed templates in low-code platforms to effortlessly configure the hardware and software setup. Define the interactions between the Programmable Logic Controller (PLC), MELSOFT VIXIO, and camera with ease. Direct integration of GigE Vision® cameras allows easy configuration and fine-tuning.

Step 5
: Real-time Operation on the Production Line

Initiate the task on the production machine to commence real-time quality analysis. Gain immediate access to a live heatmap visualization of product quality, providing instant insights into production performance. Seamlessly track inspection history for comprehensive traceability functions, ensuring continuous improvement and quality control.
